This is so cool. Microsoft Surface is cool, of course... and even available now for purchase. (AT&T stores have 'em now.) But what if I wanted any old surface to be a computing surface? How about cool multi-touch click/drag/shape? And pretty simple hardware that costs very little compared to Microsoft Surface? Check out this thing … Continue reading There’s a surface computer in your future (and on your wall!)

Heroes happen { here } Launch Video Diary 5 – Madison
This past week I had the pleasure of visiting Madison Wisconsin; not only for our HHH Launch event, but also for a delightful day speaking at the University of Wisconsin - Madison to lead a day of Windows Server 2008 training. Here is my fifth in my series of video diaries for the launch events I've … Continue reading Heroes happen { here } Launch Video Diary 5 – Madison
Heroes happen { here } Launch Video Diary 4 – Columbus
Best quality video yet. I figured out that so far the best way to render these is to do it all in Pinnacle Studio, and then just make sure the file is small enough (100mb max) for rendering the application in Expression Encoder, and then publishing the app to my Silverlight hosting through that."This one … Continue reading Heroes happen { here } Launch Video Diary 4 – Columbus

Another Video Test
http://silverlight.services.live.com/invoke/30195/BreakfastMPG/iframe.html This time I took my original AVCHD file and rendered it as a high-quality MPEG-2 file before rendering it again for Silverlight using Expression Encoder. It looks a little better in my opinion. Not so many interlacing effects visible. What do you think?
HD Silverlight Stream Test 2 – even higher quality
http://silverlight.services.live.com/invoke/30195/Breakfast3/iframe.html HINT: Double-click to show fullscreen. The first test I did (I've removed that post - it's annoying when all these videos start playing all at once in each blog post) rendered it down a little - more like DVD quality than true HD.This later one is a much bigger file, and is true HD 720p … Continue reading HD Silverlight Stream Test 2 – even higher quality
